William Lee Brinton instituted separate actions of assumpsit against Land Title Bank and Trust Company and Pennsylvania Company for Banking and Trusts to recover the amounts paid to them for certain franc notes. His amended complaints in both cases allege in substance as follows: He "is the owner and operator of a business specializing in French merchandise" located in Philadelphia.
