Petitioner, Eugene M. Johnston, district superintendent of schools and principal of the Taft Union High School District, and the board of trustees of said district, by these proceedings, seek a writ of mandate to compel the auditor of Kern County to approve salary warrants issued to petitioner Johnston pursuant to an increase in his salary voted by the trustees.
