Pursuant to section 489.14, Code 1946, I.C.A., defendant condemned a right of way 100 feet wide for an electric transmission line of 161,000 volts across plaintiff's farm. The commission appointed by the sheriff to assess plaintiff's damages, see Code section 472.4, fixed them at $8000. From this assessment defendant appealed to the district court, see section 472.18.
