The defendants were jointly charged and tried for the crime of aggravated battery, M. K. Wideman being found guilty of simple battery and sentenced to serve two years on the parish farm, while R. E. Jenkins was found guilty as charged and sentenced to serve 10 years in the state penitentiary.
