This matter is before this court on defendants' motion for a new trial as to damages only on the ground that the verdict rendered was excessive.

The case involved the death of a six-year-old girl who was killed when run over by defendants' bus. At the conclusion of the testimony, the case was submitted to the jury which returned a verdict in favor of plaintiff in the sum of $5,000. The testimony showed that the girl left surviving her a mother...
