A. N. Chappell and S. M. Chappell began business in Birmingham, Alabama in 1921 under the trade name Ancco. This name was coined by taking the initials of A. N. Chappell and adding the abbreviation for Company. In 1924 Ancco adopted the trade mark Bama for its products, which they registered...
