These are appeals from the judgment in a case brought against the Virginia Electric Power Co. to recover damages for negligently causing the destruction by fire of the plant of the Carolina Peanut Company at Powellsville, North Carolina. The case was tried before a jury which found the defendant guilty of negligence in failing, after notice, to shut off the flow of electric current to the Peanut Company's building, thereby causing the building...
