L. P. Brockwell, Sr., service manager of a garage in Greensville county, was killed as the result of a stab wound which entered his heart, inflicted by the defendant, Bailey. A jury convicted Bailey of first-degree murder, fixed his punishment at life imprisonment and he was sentenced accordingly.
