Plaintiff sued to recover for personal injuries caused by falling down a stairway in defendants' building, plaintiff claiming that the said stairway was improperly constructed and maintained without due regard to safety of persons lawfully using the building. From a judgment for defendants of no cause of action on a directed verdict, plaintiff appeals.

In denying plaintiff's motion for a new trial, the court ruled that as a matter of law defendants...
