The plaintiff, Sinie Bell Smith, filed two suits for civil damages resulting from injuries received when she was allegedly beaten by deputy sheriffs of the Parish of East Baton Rouge. One suit is against Bryan Clemmons, Sheriff and Herman A. Thompson, Deputy Sheriff; the other suit is against Bryan Clemmons, Sheriff, and E. Frank Brian, Deputy Sheriff.
