The defendant is the operator of a bonded warehouse in the City of Alexandria, Louisiana. Alleging that on August 14, 1946, he had stored with defendant some sixty odd cases of whiskey of assorted brands, for which he had paid the regular storage rates and charges, and that ten of these cases, of a value of $479.32, were lost, plaintiff filed suit to recover this amount from the defendant.
