FLYNN, Chief Justice.

This is an action of trespass on the case to recover damages for alienation of affections and for criminal conversation. After a trial in the superior court a jury returned a verdict for the plaintiff in the sum of $4000. Thereafter the trial justice denied defendant's motion for a new trial and the case is here on her bill of exceptions to that decision and to certain rulings made during the trial.

The amended declaration is in two counts...
