This is an action of tort to recover for personal injuries arising out of a collision between two automobiles travelling in opposite directions on Route 2, a public highway in the town of Erving.

After denial by the judge of the defendant's motion for a directed verdict for him, the action was submitted to a jury who returned a verdict for the plaintiff which the judge received under leave reserved....
