The appellant-defendant, Henry V. (Skimp) Tillman, was indicted in the Circuit Court of Duval County, Florida, for the murder of Frank E. Wood. Shortly thereafter he was placed upon trial in the same court and a jury, after hearing all the testimony, returned a verdict of murder in the first degree, without recommendation as to mercy.
