The plaintiff brought this action to recover damages for personal injuries alleged to have been negligently inflicted when he was struck by the defendant's automobile. The defendant by his answer denied that any negligence on his part caused the plaintiff's injuries and alleged that the plaintiff himself was guilty of contributory negligence.
