This was an action in tort to recover damages, actual and punitive, for the wrongful discontinuance of telephone service and removal of a telephone from plaintiff's place of business in the town of Olar.

The plaintiff charged the defendant, Southeastern Carolinas Telephone Company, with negligence and willfulness and a conscious disregard of the rights of the plaintiff in the cutting out of his telephone. The answer...
