The collision involved in these actions occurred at about 2:30 a.m., on October 31, 1947, on the north twenty-feet-wide concrete lane for westbound traffic on a divided highway, the south lane of which for eastbound traffic was separated from the north lane by a fifty-feet-wide grass parkway, with occasional concrete crossovers between the lanes.
