In this suit the owners of S. S. Gloria seek to charge respondent Moore-McCormack Lines, Inc. (Moore-McCormack) with negligence that caused damage to the ship's No. 2 'tween deck in the way of No. 2 hatch. The vessel was, at the time of the incidents involved, under a uniform time charter to the United States of America (Warshiptime Form 101); the government had designated Moore-McCormack as berth agents under a uniform berth agency agreement...
