Damages suffered by reason of a negligent act of another must be the direct and proximate result of the act complained of. The pecuniary circumstances of the plaintiff, the fact that his home is incumbered with a mortgage are not material in determining the amount of damages resulting to him from the accident. Appellant insists that the bringing of such facts to the attention of the jury in this case constituted prejudicial error.
