Prior to the passage of the sexual psychopath act (Laws 1949, c. 314), the Legislature appointed an interim commission to study the problem. Laws 1947, cc. 301, 310. The commission, after investigation and public hearings, made its report on March 1, 1949. See Report of the Interim Commission to Study the Cause and Prevention of Serious Sex Crimes.
