This is a suit under the Workmen's Compensation Act, Act No. 20 of 1914, as amended, wherein it is alleged that on and prior to July 14, 1948, the plaintiff was employed by defendant at its sawmill at DeQuincy, in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, in work commonly known as "dogging" and that while so working on the date aforesaid, he was very suddenly, violently and accidentally struck in the stomach with a large slab that had been thrown in his direction...
