The defendant, Arthur Amundsen, was charged by information with the crime of indecent assault as defined by Rem. Rev. Stat. (Sup.), § 2442 [P.P.C. § 118-195] in that he did take indecent liberties with a ten-year-old girl. A trial before a jury resulted in a verdict of guilty. A motion for a new trial was made by the defendant and was denied, and he was given a maximum sentence of twenty years confinement in the penitentiary as is required by...
