The appellant, on April 2, 1948, was compelled to pay $40,000 in settlement of a judgment which one of its former switchmen had recovered against it in an action for personal injuries sustained by him on June 10, 1943, as the result of the negligence of employees of the United States in charge of the St. Louis Ordnance Plant in St. Louis, Missouri. The appellant, on February 16, 1949, brought this action to recover indemnity or reimbursement...
