September 1, 1945, American Republic insured Clyde E. Presson, naming Dovie Presson as beneficiary.1 The principal sum of $1,250 was payable if death occurred through accidental means. In addition, monthly benefits were due upon proof of disability because of sickness or as a result of accidental injury. Quarterly premiums of $15 were payable in advance. There was no period of grace.
