O'CONNELL, Justice.

This is an action of trespass vi et armis. Defendant pleaded the general issue and self-defense. After a jury trial in the superior court a verdict was rendered for the defendant and thereafter a motion for a new trial was denied by the trial justice. The case is here on plaintiff's exceptions thereto and to evidentiary rulings made during the trial.
