The patent claims a method of joining drill pipe sections to tool joint members by means of a weld laid in a bevel, or counter-bore, cut in the shoulder of a tool joint. The equipment referred to is used in oil well drilling operations. Drill pipe is customarily manufactured in thirty foot lengths, the most common being about four and one-half inches...
