The appellants were charged, by an indictment (based on the Mann Act, 18 U.S. C.A. § 398, 36 Stat. 825, now § 2421, new Title 18 U.S.C.A.), with having on July 18, 1948, knowingly transported in interstate commerce from Houston, Texas, to Texarkana, Arkansas, a certain woman, for immoral purposes. The defendants (appellants) entered pleas of not guilty, and were tried, convicted and sentenced...
