An original government survey by one Reed in 1869 of Township 29 South, Range 20 East, M. D. B. & M., showed Section 36 therein to contain 640 acres of land. In 1892 a re-survey of the entire township was ordered by the Government and made by one Carpenter, which re-survey was approved in 1894.
