On March 19, 1948, Frances E. Eberwein, appellant, filed a bill of complaint in Circuit Court No. 2 of Baltimore City against her husband, Frederick W. Eberwein, appellee, for a divorce a mensa et thoro, alimony pendente lite, permanent alimony and counsel fee, alleging that he deserted her on January 22, 1948, and also that he had beaten her on a number of occasions.
