The bill of indictment in this case contained 26 counts charging extortion by a public officer under section 318 of The Penal Code of June 24, 1939, P.L. 872, 18 PS § 4318, and the jury rendered verdicts of guilty on 11 of the 26 counts, and of not guilty on the other 15 counts, four of the latter having been directed by the trial judge for lack of sufficient evidence.
