In May, 1945, Chester A. Bowles, as Administrator of the Office of Price Administration, brought this suit against defendants charging violation of the maximum price regulations in the sale of certain commodities above maximum prices and seeking to recover treble damages on account of such violation. On February 26, 1946, Paul Porter succeeded Bowles as Price Administrator and served until December 12, 1946, whereupon he was, in turn, succeeded...
