The wife fell while roller skating in the Lake Kanawaukee Roller Skating Rink, operated by the State of New York. She rented skates which were adjusted and fastened on by an attendant at the rink. The end of an excessively long strap was looped under the buckle on her ankle. The court found that this strap pulled out of the loop, caught under the wheels of the skate, and caused her to fall.
