The action was for personal injuries and property damage arising out of an automobile accident to which the plaintiff Stevens and the defendant Wood were the only eyewitnesses. The plaintiffs contend that an attempt was made to impeach Stevens' testimony as a recent fabrication. To rehabilitate his credibility, the plaintiffs offered in evidence certain prior statements made by him. The trial court properly refused to admit these statements in evidence.
