Plaintiff seeks to recover on three separate items of claim arising out of a contract for the construction of an irrigation canal on the Deschutes River near the city of Bend, Oregon.

In the bidding documents the contract work was described as "Earth Work and Structures Station 28 + 24 to Station 110 + 00 North Unit Main Canal." The work was divisible into two parts, namely, the portion consisting of the approach channel and headwork structures...
