Peters, Raymond Yellow Thunder, and James Lawrence Janis were indicted in 1943 for conspiring in violation of § 37 of the Criminal Code, 18 U.S.C.A. § 88, to commit an offense against the United States, namely, to violate the National Cattle Theft Act, 18 U.S.C.A. § 419b.
