This action is based upon the theory of libel. Plaintiff, whose true name is Bernard Clare, is employed by a newspaper in the City of Minneapolis, and writes items for that paper. He has followed that occupation at various locations including Minneapolis and Duluth, Minnesota, Detroit, Michigan, Milwaukee and Superior, Wisconsin, and Iowa Falls, Iowa, since 1917.
