On January 28, 1946, the plaintiff, a young woman twenty-six years of age, while crossing the east bound traffic roadway at Atlantic Avenue and 86th Street, in the Borough of Queens, New York City, was struck by a United States Navy ambulance, driven by one Rubly in the employ of the defendant.
