This is a salvage suit, involving the refloating of the Steamship Fairisle on September 5, 1946, after she had stranded in the Bay of Bengal, off the east coast of India, near the town of Bavanapadu. The libellants consist of four officers and twenty-seven men of a total complement of thirty-seven officers and crew of the Government-owned Liberty Ship, Furnifold M. Simmons. The master of the vessel is not a party libellant, nor has any suit...
