On July 6, 1938, W. P. Beaird, E. W. Parks and Aileen Wells Parks, residents of Obion, Tennessee, executed a mineral lease in favor of W. W. Blocker, who, in turn, assigned it to the Gulf Refining Company on August 19, 1938.
