Petitioner is an employee of The Ingalls Iron Works Company, a corporation. He entered its employ on the second day of February, 1942, and worked for it at its Southside Plant in the city of Birmingham, Alabama, in the capacity of Layerout, first class, on the first shift (hereinafter referred to as the day shift) until he was inducted into the Navy on the fifteenth day of May, 1943. He served in the Navy until the thirtieth day of September...
