Two minor children were drowned as the result of a collision between a privately owned motor vessel, on which they were invited guests, and the Army tug "Lt. Col. Herbert L. Kidwell." The collision occurred on October 12, 1942, on the Mississippi River within the territorial limits of the state of Louisiana.
