On February 20, 1926, petitioner was sentenced in the District Court of the United States for the Southern District of California, Southern Division, for mail robbery. On May 19, 1942, he moved that court to vacate and correct his sentence, which motion was denied on May 10, 1943. On July 3, 1943, petitioner filed in the same court a notice of appeal and motion for leave to proceed on appeal in forma pauperis. The motion was denied July 9, 1943...
