These actions were brought under Section 33 of the Merchant Marine Act of 1920, 41 Stat. 1007, 46 U.S.C.A. § 688, usually referred to as the Jones Act, to recover damages for alleged negligence of the defendant causing the death of the plaintiffs' intestates.
