The collision took place in international waters not far from the Ambrose Channel, at about four o'clock on the morning of December 4, 1941. The Dixie Sword, an ocean-going vessel, bound north, was approaching the channel at the same time that the tug, Joseph H. Moran, and her tow of two barges were also proceeding northerly, but on a crossing...
