The libelant was the chief engineer on the S. S. "Henry Bacon," a new ship, which left New York the end of December 1942 on a long voyage, which included a transit of the Panama Canal. Electric current for lighting, refrigeration and other purposes was supplied by three generators, only two of which were operated at the same time.
