Libels were filed against the S/S West Kebar, her engines, etc., American West African Line, Inc., as owner, and Barber Steamship lines, as operating agents.

The libel in the first suit was filed January 28th, 1941, by Edmond Weil, Inc., and the subsequent libel was filed on January 14th, 1942, by Robert Schwarz Bristle Corp., Emil Buschoff & Co...
