At the time of the occurrence out of which this litigation arises, three individuals controlled and operated two Arkansas corporations for which they maintained a common office in the city of Fort Smith, Arkansas. One of the corporations, the Black and White Transfer Company, was engaged as a common carrier of freight under a license issued by the Arkansas Corporation Commission.
