The appellants were convicted under 18 U.S.C.A. § 88 of engaging in an unlawful conspiracy. Each was fined $10,000 and the individual appellant was sentenced to imprisonment for two years. The indictment contained but a single count. In brief, it charged that the appellants, and other defendants as to whom a severance was had at the opening of the trial, conspired to bring to this country diamonds that were cut in Holland or Belgium under...
