Plaintiff burned his hand on June 20, 1940, while engaged as a seaman on a vessel of the defendant, Moore-McCormack Lines, Inc. He was treated first at the Broad Street Hospital and then, upon complaining to that defendant's claim adjuster, was told to attend the Marine Hospital and did so. On July 1, 1940, the claim adjuster gave him $15. He did not discuss settlement but instead told him to obtain an abstract from the Marine Hospital to determine...
