An indictment containing 42 counts was returned against 29 persons including the appellants, Phil Chadwick, Mrs. Phil Chadwick, Abe Chapman, and Charles Schiffman. The first 41 counts of the indictment charged each of the named defendants with substantive violations of the Harrison Anti-Narcotic Act, 26 U.S.C.A.Int.Rev.Code §§ 2553, 2554, and the Drugs Import and Export Act, 21 U.S.C.A. § 174.
